HOA Board members
(note: this section is being updated. The Board president stepped down and FONC members have joined.)
Be sure to thank the HOA Board members. They’re working on a volunteer basis and put in a lot of time and effort. Don’t make it a thankless job!
Also, even though they are in the public eye, and so it’s your right to know who’s representing you, please respect their personal privacy. They are neighbors like you!
Veronica Gillette - through 2010
Greg Brucia - through 2010 - Corporate attorney - a respected associate attorney in Bell, Boyd & Lloyd LLP, Carmel Valley office. He has also served as a Director on a local school board.
Joseph L. Stine - resigned May 2008
Sidney Schulman - through 2009. Be sure to thank Mr. Schulman for his foresight and energy to put in solar heating for the olympic pool. Besides saving the HOA a lot of money over years, this is simply the right thing to do. It’s only one of many things he’s done to keep the HOA on track.
David Cheng - resigned
Andy Weis - recently joined (appointed, not voted in) - Financial Expert/Planner/Advisor with Smith Barney
Active Citizen Neighbors
There’s an advocacy group called Friends of North County (FONC). At a recent HOA board meeting, they told attendees that they had been advised by their legal counsel not to share anything in writing or electronically. Please respect their personal privacy. You may be able to learn more about the public profile of this group from their own websites http://friendsofnorthcounty.org or http://friendsofnorthcounty.org/news.htm
We couldn’t be luckier to have such talented, informed, and well-connected neighbors. These citizen activists know a lot about real estate, development, the law, finance, and related matters. That’s just what we need working on our side!
One FONC member - Leonard Steinberg, is sometimes introduced as a La Costa Valley resident with two elementary-school age kids. He’s just being modest. His experience as a Division President of Pulte Homes Corp., a multi-billion-dollar national homebuilder speaks for itself. Here’s a great story in the Metropolitan about Pulte’s long-standing success in San Diego - 2003 - Good Times for San Diego’s Home Builders. His credentials are impressive as a Principal Consultant with The Centennial Corporation, featuring his experience developing condominiums, apartments, and commercial and industrial centers.
Another FONC member - David Steigerwald, is President of a successful developer of custom homes in Solana Beach - Steigerwald-Dougherty, Inc. Check out the homes they build and remodel; they’re gorgeous!
